GOLD, E. Richard

GOLD, E. Richard Photograph Richard Gold is the Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy. He teaches courses on intellectual property and innovation at McGill University’s Faculty of Law. His research centers on the nexus between innovation and development, particularly with respect to biotechnology in the international context. He is the Principal Investigator of the Intellectual Property Modelling Group, a transdisciplinary research team investigating intellectual property regimes and their links to innovation, financing, public opinion, and development. Dr. Gold has consulted with the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the World Health Organization, and various Canadian federal and provincial governments and institutions. Dr. Gold holds an S.J.D. and LL.M. from the University of Michigan, a LL.B. (Honors) from the University of Toronto and a B.Sc. from McGill University.
